Problem

Design a full book jacket for The Hero with a Thousand Faces, which outlines the Hero’s Journey, a universal motif of adventure and transformation that runs through virtually all of the world’s mythic traditions.

Solution

Inspired by the ideas of fluidity and transformation in the novel, I created a type-based design in which the title melts and blends into itself. I also included a subtle swirl on the back to represent the steps in the journey.
